Man files medical malpractice claim after wire found in his body

A man in another state recently claimed that a surgeon had left a wire inside of him 15 years ago. He has thus filed a lawsuit against the surgeon, who is now on trial. Any patient in Texas who is harmed due to a doctor's error has the right to seek compensation through a medical malpractice claim.

In the recent out-of-state case, the 70-year-old man claimed that the surgeon who left a wire inside of him was doing an angioplasty at a heart center at the time. Ten years later, an X-ray revealed that the wire stretched from the man's aorta to a thigh. The man asserted that doctors did manage to remove most of this wire during a surgery in 2018. However, 20 inches of it reportedly remains near the man's thigh.

Pickup trucks found not to be as safe as cars

They're big, powerful, heavy and many people won’t drive anything but a pickup truck. But are they risking their safety and the lives of their passengers? According to Consumer Reports, the only pick up to make the cut with regards to meeting the threshold of recommended safety was the Ford F-150, with the Toyota Tundra falling tragically short in the full-size category.

Pickup trucks have gained a lot of popularity in recent years, not only for their ability to haul whatever cargo that you need, but also for transporting families. Since more and more families are using pickups as their primary mode of transportation, safety is even more important.

Family law proceeding of divorce can emotionally impact children

When two individuals get divorced, it is natural for them to feel frustrated, angry and sad. However, if they share children, their children can also easily experience these emotions. Fortunately, parents who are going through the family law proceeding of divorce in Texas can take steps to help their children to cope with it as effectively as possible.

First, it is a wise move for parents who are getting divorced to help their children to experience normalcy as much as possible. For instance, if the two parents have a relatively amicable relationship in spite of the marital breakup, they can still go on family dinners together or attend a sporting event as a family. Even if the parents cannot stand to be near each other, they can individually participate in activities with the children, such as taking them to a basketball game or the movies.

Motor vehicle accidents involving single vehicles may be fatal

An 18-year-old woman's life was recently snuffed out in a Texas car crash, leaving her loved ones to grieve and wonder how she could have lost her life so soon. Meanwhile, a man was injured in the one-car crash. Sometimes, these types of motor vehicle accidents happen due to the carelessness of a driver, in which case the driver might be held liable for any injuries or deaths stemming from the crash.

In the recent crash case, police said that a pickup truck driver, 20, was driving along a street on a Thursday evening. However, he ended up losing control of his truck. As a result, he hit the guardrail on an overpass.

Motor vehicle accidents may lead to death, injury

Two teenage girls' lives were recently snuffed out in a tragic collision in Texas. Several other individuals were also injured in the collision. These types of motor vehicle accidents can easily occur if a driver is careless behind the wheel, in which case he or she may be held liable for any injuries or deaths resulting from the accident.

The recent accident took place on a Saturday. Police said a 61-year-old man was driving a pickup truck and suddenly collided with a car at a street intersection. The man then reportedly fled the crash scene but was later apprehended and taken into custody.

Fatal motor vehicle accidents often due to speeding

Three people recently lost their lives in a tragic fiery crash in Texas. The collision, which involved a car and a semitruck, occurred during the early morning hours on a recent Wednesday. Sometimes these types of motor vehicle accidents occur due to negligent or reckless driving, which is grounds for wrongful death litigation in the Lone Star State.

The accident took place at about 2:15 a.m. along Interstate 30. According to authorities, a car carrying three individuals was traveling at over 100 mph on the highway. All of a sudden, the car struck the road's center median, hit the back part of a semitruck and caught fire.

Motor vehicle accidents: Texas crash claims 4 children

Car accidents that cause losses of life are tragic, but they are especially tragic when those deaths involve children. Such was the case in a recent collision in Texas near Bastrop. Just as in any situation where motor vehicle accidents claim the lives of children, their parent or guardians can file wrongful death lawsuits against the driver deemed responsible for the crash.

The accident occurred on Friday, March 29, at some time after 9 p.m. Two cars were involved in the wreck on State Highway 21. Upon arriving on the scene, authorities discovered that four children had been killed. The driver of that car was also injured and remains in a coma.

Family law proceeding of divorce can impact the children

Even a relatively amicable marital dissolution process can have a negative impact on young children. Unfortunately, this means that hostile family law proceedings can be incredibly difficult for young children to cope with. Here are a couple of tips that may help divorcing parents in Texas to keep the process as smooth as possible both for themselves and for their children.

First, it can be helpful for parents to give their children as much of a heads-up as possible when they decide to break up. However, because divorce is an adult issue, it is best for them to avoid sharing too many details about the breakup with the children. This will only confuse the children or possibly hurt one or both of the parents.

Teen motor vehicle accidents may happen due to negligence

A high school student in Texas recently lost her life in a tragic car crash. Now, her surviving family members and friends are grieving over her loss. Sometimes these types of motor vehicle accidents happen as a result of a driver's carelessness, in which case the driver may be held financially accountable in civil court.

The accident took place early in the morning on a Sunday. Police said that a car carrying four teenagers was traveling along Interstate 20 after leaving a party. All of a sudden, the car left the roadway and struck a tree. The 16-year-old girl who was riding in the front passenger seat ended up passing away in the crash.
